In the line-of-business application (LOB) space, a Software- as- a- Service business is the result of an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) embracing both the SaaS Business model and the SaaS delivery model.

An Independent Software Vendor (ISV) embracing the SaaS Business Model sets the business up in such a way that the key business processes of Marketing, Sales, Provisioning, Billing, R&D etc are integrated with the product (service) itself.
An ISV embracing the SaaS Delivery Model sets the delivery organization in such a way, that the key business processes of Provisioning, Billing and Support are handled through the product (Service) itself.
